I'm Liz Jump. Team Vicar in eight rural parishes in Suffolk. I've been here about four years, moving here in 2007 from Manchester Diocese, where I worked in Salford, Bury and Ashton under Lyne.
Before ordination, I worked in The University of Liverpool Medical School as a Tutor, and Research Assistant, after studying as a mature student for a degree, graduating in 2005.
The photo is me with my two sons in 2007 at my licensing to my current parishes. Damien is on the left and Chris on the right.
I grew up in Southport, near Liverpool, and still miss living by the sea! I spent a lot of my late teenage years walking, climbing, sailing and canoeing, and as you can see by the picture, I still enjoy the outdoors today. I don't get to sail now - out of my league! - but I do have a canoe, and love getting out when I can.
This photo was taken at Castlerigg Stone Circle on my holiday last year. Fantastic place!
In my other life I work as a chaplain with the Royal Army Chaplains Department.
This is me taking a marriage blessing in the field. Not a common occurance, but very enjoyable, and a great privilege.
Being the shy and retiring type, I spend most of my spare time in theatres, either singing (I'm an alto, if you're interested!) or acting. I started acting (other than at school) when I was ten, and I haven't really stopped since, except when the boys were young.
The photo here is of a community production 'Citizen of the World' celebrating the life of Thomas Paine. It was the least embarrassing photo of this type that I could find - the others involved period costume or bleached hair!
So that's me.
And this is me - with my dog, Nell.
I love animals...
...and music, singing, theatre, reading - I have far too many books! - visiting National Trust properties, camping, canoeing, fell walking. And good food. I love good food!
I don't like rice pudding. Or tapioca. And I hate liquorice. I don't hate much else. Except bigotry and intolerance.
So welcome - enjoy.
